Head Graduate Student Instructor - PHYSICS 8A Introductory Physics (Fall 2022)

As the Head Graduate Student Instructor for Physics 8A: Introductory Physics at UC Berkeley during Fall 2022, I led a team of 15 GSIs supporting a combined section taught by 2 instructors and enrolling over 600 students.

In this leadership role, I:

• Coordinated GSI Activities: Organized weekly meetings, set instructional goals, and ensured consistent grading and feedback across all discussion and lab sections.
• Facilitated Training & Development: Mentored new GSIs, providing guidance on effective teaching strategies, student engagement, and assessment methods.
• Maintained Course Quality: Collaborated with faculty on select curriculum and exams, managed exam schedules, and addressed student feedback.
• Oversaw Logistics: Monitored GSI workloads, managed scheduling conflicts, and served as a point of contact between GSIs, instructors, and departmental administrators.
